 For our 19th birthday we're heading back down to The Cell (under Das Kino) on Saturday 4th November and we've asked the mighty Aroop Roy to join us for a 3 hour set. The man's had a blistering year so far doing a back-to-back set with Mr Scruff at the We Out Here festival, blowing up Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival over in France while also dropping into Defected Croatia, Hi Ibiza and Manchester's Warehouse Project.

Grace was one of the co-founders of the legendary free party collective DiY (formerly known as Digs from the production/DJ outfit Digs & Woosh) and went on to change the dance music landscape as we know it in the early 90's. Grace has DJed all over from Homoelectric to Love International and is now a resident at ADONIS and Block 9 in Glasto's NYC Downlow.

Beginning his career as an original Sheffield house young blood in the mid 1980’s Luke moved to Manchester and his partnership with fellow Unabomber Justin Crawford saw the birth of Electric Chair, a cornerstone cult night in the UK underground club scene, Luke was one half of the production team of The Unabombers, whose electric souls edits gained a loyal following. Luke and Justin created Electric Elephant, a Croatian festival paying homage to their wild eclecticism from Balearic, to Brazilian to E soul, House, Disco and Techno.

Chris Duckenfield has almost 3 decades of djing safely tucked under his belt that have seen him take in the underground warehouse parties of the late eighties, classic clubs like the Panorama Bar in Berlin, The Sub Club in Glasgow and The Electric Chair in Manchester as well as thundering cathedrals of rave in the form of London’s Fabric and Electric Elephant festival in Croatia, Chris Duckenfield has done it all. He was one half of the mighty Swag outfit, ran record labels Odori, Primitive and the more recent filthy disco imprint Popular Peoples Front and that’s not even mentioning the ‘ssssssh’ records he puts out. A firm favourite at Soul Buggin’, we can’t wait to have him back on our dance floor.

Before Soul Buggin' matured into the hairy dark room disco it is today there was a rather splendid underground party in Nottingham called Basement Boogaloo. Small, intimate and positively throbbing with soulful vibes it attracted some of the finest DJ's to visit the city and many got truly mucky in basements, lofts, pub gardens and even on a boat in Croatia's Garden Festival. The nights are still talked about all these years later so we thought let's invite the crew back for a proper get down in our favourite small venue The Chameleon.

We've invited our old mucker Red Rack'em, from Bergerac Records, to celebrate with us. Astonishingly, he last played for us way back in 2009 so is long overdue a return visit.

With a fanbase that ranges from Elton John to DJ Harvey, Red Rack'em's twisted productions have been turning heads for years now and we're big fans here at Soul Buggin' towers. He launched his "How I program" music masterclass series in 2020 that's gone on to build a great community and attracted some stellar guest programmers. He's played just about everywhere from Berlin to Bristol and his DJ sets straddle everything from house, disco, broken beats, nu wave, techno, boogie, jazz, soul, hip hop and everything in between.

Come get loose in a basement with us.
