The night DJ Spinna played a little basement in Nottingham...

There've been a few nights over the years where we've had to pinch ourselves at Soul Buggin'.

The first time Ashley Beedle came to play Moog in 2011, Andrew Weatherall laying down the cosmic chug at our 9th birthday in 2013 and of course when we flew Recloose over (not once but twice!) are only a few that spring to mind (there are loads if we're honest) but our 15th birthday party last month can most definitely join the list.

At our very heart as you've probably already guessed by now we're just a bunch of record nerds, we're not full time promoters and we don't do this as a job but toying with the idea of bringing DJ Spinna over from New York to our party in Nottingham had us salivating like a dog that hadn't been fed for a week. We've tried for a few years to make it happen but as these things go the planets hadn't quite aligned but when things fell into place for our 15th birthday we started to get very excited indeed. Whether it be his DJ sets, his production work or simply his stellar series of numerous complications, DJ Spinna has been an inspiration to all four of us for as long as we can remember so when it came to announcing the night, to say we were buzzing our bits off was an understatement.

Big thanks to all who came down, DJ Spinna for playing a blinder, Trade for hosting us and Andre who shot some great highlights. It'll be one for the history books for sure.
