We've only gone and landed ourselves a monthly residency at Rough Trade Records here in Nottingham. Falling on the last Saturday of the month it'll be an early doors affair to warm your Saturday nights right. 7pm-11pm in the upstairs bar. This month your host for the evening with be Mark A laying down a sweet 4 hour set of all the good stuff

Yay and woo and about bloody time!! It's taken us a fair old while to get one of our favourite ever Soul Buggin' guests back for another gig, but we've finally gone and done it. Ladies and Gentlemen we give you the rather magnificent Recloose.

Rolling into Rough Trade...

Soul Buggin' in a record shop? With a bar? Sounds like a marriage made in heaven if you ask us!

We'll be rolling into the brand spanking new Rough Trade records upstairs bar for a little instore session on Satuday 28th March. It'll be an early one (7pm-11pm) and free entry all night so a great way to kick off your Saturday night if you're heading out elsewhere.

So how are we all? Recovered from New Year then? Wishing there was something to look forward to other than the inevitable credit card bill? Well worry not dear friends cos Buggin' is back to put a spring in your stride, a glint in your eye and some lead in your pencil (if you indeed have a pencil).

For this one we decided to look at someone who's star is very much in the ascendancy but who also has a strong background in quality tunes. That person is Stockholm's Mad Mats.

Mats not only runs the hugely successful Local Talk record label, he also has a hand in the superb edits label Basic Fingers and ran the respected club night and record label Raw Fusion. Some say he may also have had his finger in the shhh label GAMM, but we'll say no more about that.

With a DJ career running over 25 years, the open-minded Mad Mats has got some serious skills and you can easily find him spinning at a house or techno night, your hip hop/r&b block party or a classic old school retro session with soul, jazz, funk, disco, afrobeat or just about anything he fancies. But above all he prefers a freestyle session where he can mix everything up, perfect for our own little soiree.
